I shot this wedding back in September. My wife Donna had volunteered with Lindsey, the bride, in Grow Zone, our preschool ministry at Port City Community Church. They worked in the 4-year old room together and Donna would go on and on about how sweet Lindsey was. I guess a person’s true character comes out after months of working with preschoolers. And as it turns out, she is as sweet as Donna said. It was a joy to shoot Lindsey’s and Jeremy’s wedding. They are a couple who truly enjoy each other and who gets what marriage is all about.

Once I received the timeline, I knew that the commute from Wrightsville Beach back to downtown in summer traffic would present a slight issue with covering all of the reception details. So Susie Linquist stepped in and captured the details at Saint Thomas Preservation Hall while I was still at Wrightsville Beach with the wedding party. A very special thank you goes out to Susie! Jay Tatum crushed the turntables and always keeps the energy high on the dance floor. And I loved the additional lighting that was brought in by Steve Peterson of High Performance Lighting…such a great touch.

A couple of weeks ago, I photographed Ashley and Mike’s Wilmington NC wedding at the south end of Wrightsville Beach with the reception at Saint Thomas Preservation Hall. Wendy Wright of A Beautiful Event did an amazing job with the flowers as she always does. She is one of my top wedding vendors I want to work with and it is always a pleasure shooting her designs. And Azalea Limo provided the trolley which was the best trolley ride I have ever had mainly because the driver’s iPod mix was tied to the speaker system. Gotta love a good club mix on the way to WB.
