Paige & Brian | Wilmington NC Wedding

I shot Paige & Brian’s Wilmington NC Wedding a couple of weeks ago. The ceremony was at the very beautiful First Presbyterian Church in downtown Wilmington. First Presbyterian is simply stunning on both the inside and out. The reception was at Bluewater Waterfront Grill at Wrightsville Beach where Paige & Brian made an entrance via boat. As always, Kristy Carr had Bluewater ready to rock while Jay Tatum of Active DJ Entertainment kept the music coming.

I consider myself lucky to be able to shoot quite a bit of Wilmington NC weddings but it’s also nice to shoot out of town too. A few weeks ago, I shot Liz’s bridal on an old farm near where she grew up…it’s the same place where I shot her engagement photos so I was excited that she wanted to go back there. I shot her Holly Ridge NC wedding a couple of weeks ago so those images are in the blog queue. Here are some images from our time together.

Phyllis & Hunter | Wedding

I was able to travel a few weeks ago for Phyllis & Hunter’s Hatteras NC wedding. I have been a part of smaller, more private weddings this year and am really digging them. As I was shooting, it seemed like this event was one big family reunion rather than two families coming together for the first time. Definitely a great way to spend the evening. A few weeks ago, I shot Jenell & Jesse’s Carolina Beach NC wedding. They are great clients who had a wedding ceremony that truly honored the Lord and a celebration that focused on family and friends. I love being a part of times like this.

A wonderful and very cooperative wedding party…

While taking shots of the wedding party, we heard some garage band music nearby. I asked the couple to hang out for a bit while I went down and spoke to the shirtless high schooler and asked if they could kick up some Skynard. So in true CB fashion, Freebird began to ring out…

During the reception, I asked Jenell & Jesse if they wanted to peace out for a bit and head to the Boardwalk for a few minutes. A HUGE thank you needs to go out to Rachel & Will (who’s wedding I’m shooting in July) for driving us over to the Boardwalk and circling the lot while we jumped out and grabbed some shots. Here is one of them…

Cake & Off-camera Lighting

Here is a quick image from today’s Wrightsville Beach NC wedding at the Holiday Inn Sunspree at Wrightsville Beach. I love it when I can shoot off-camera lighting at a reception.

For photographers: one Alien Bee 800 camera left is lighting both the couple and the cake. The light on the right side of the cake is being reflected by the huge mirror just to the right.
